Crazy Rhythm

Hot Society Orchestra

An 11-piece 1920's Dance Orchestra that features music from 1924-1934

The band performs "Hot Jazz", "Sweet" music, "Novelty" numbers, and popular "Tin

Pan Alley" tunes of the Roaring Twenties and early thirties: the music that came just

before, and lead up to, Big Band Swing. Think Charleston, Gershwin, Flappers, Irving Berlin, Speakeasies, early Ellington, the Cotton Club, Betty Boop.

In order to accomplish their signature 78 RPM sound, the CRHSO performs authentic

period "vintage" orchestrations, as well as meticulous note-for-note transcriptions from the original 78 rpm records.

The instrumentation and interpretation is authentic, and can include vocals from Ginger Pauley, as well as from within the band. Jeff Gilbert ("The Last Crooner") is often invited to visit via aeroplane as a special guest.

Created by Mike Henebry in 1994, leadership was turned over to founding member Chris Dierl in 2015.
